Sport injuries of my own, along with a goal to create an interdisciplinary approach to healthcare in my community, lead me to a career in chiropractic.
Opening and operating Active Solutions Health + Sport in Ladysmith has given me the opportunity to provide an integrative health care approach for our incredible community.
Together we offer a kind, caring, and inclusive approach to treating patients. Expect your treatment to be active and hands-on!
Professional highlights
My time spent completing a Clinical Externship at Sherbourne Health Center in Toronto, ON is something I am very proud of. Sherbourne is committed to helping people who may have been under-served by conventional health care, and it was a great experience.
I am also active with our profession through the British Columbia Chiropractic’s association, and involved in research as one of the treating chiropractors with primary health care providers in the Cowichan Valley for patients with acute low back pain.
Core values
Compassion, kindness, listening, community. Evidence-informed and patient-centred healthcare. Integrative and collaborative care for treating the whole person.
Overcoming challenges
The biggest challenges I find in my career are often related to BC's limited scope of practice for chiropractors, and also referrals for imaging. I find communicating with primary health care practitioners is our best way of overcoming our profession's challenges.
Hobbies and interests
Spending time with family, being active in community, exploring our beautiful island, hiking, gardening, soccer.
Why chiropractic?
For the opportunity to connect with patients, and to help them achieve their health care goals, whatever those might be. I enjoy working with patients of all ages and stages of life, and have an interest in newborns and the pediatric population.
