Even though I have lots of experiences as an athlete, I love working with people across all levels of fitness.

Book with Jay Huggins

Jay Huggins offers the following treatments:

Physical activity has always played a large role in my life. Helping others stay active motivates me.

I am skilled at finding ways for patients to help themselves. I am also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach, which allows me to blend rehab and performance for athletes.

Core values

I value patient self-management and improving patient self-efficacy.

My approach is all about empowering patients to be in control of their healthcare journey, which can have a positive impact on their health in the long term. By equipping patients with the right info and resources to look after their health, I can support them in making well-informed choices while improving their overall well-being.

Why physiotherapy?

Changing people’s trajectories from “limited in activities” to “free to do what they want” is very gratifying.

I also find it rewarding to help others make positive changes and take as much control over their health as possible.

Hobbies and interests

I’m always very active! I am a baseball player, snowboarder, weightlifter, runner, and a (poor) surfer.

Educational background

I received my bachelor’s degree at Thompson Rivers University, followed by a masters in physical therapy at McGill University.

Much of my continuing education has focused on pain science. This has given me the perspective that pain is very complex and there are always several factors contributing to it, which gives us several possibilities to treat it.
