My goal is to create a space where clients feel safe to have their own unique experience.

My interest in muscles and recovery started young, fueled by a passion for weightlifting. Later, massage therapy sessions in my early 20s left a lasting impression. I was working an office job at the time, feeling discomfort I had a hard time putting into words. I didn’t realize how much of that discomfort was connected to my muscles and the emotional and physical stress that came with that job. After that first massage, I felt like I was floating. That experience definitely planted a seed and led me into pursuing a career in massage therapy.

Why massage?

I’ve worked a variety of jobs from desk work to physical labor so I understand firsthand how different demands shape the body. This experience allows me to empathize with clients from all walks of life and tailor each session to meet their specific needs.

An interest in psychology, especially Evolutionary and Jungean perspectives, give me a unique angle on why people have stress in their bodies. I pay attention to the psychology behind physical problems, helping clients reconnect with parts of themselves they may have ignored.

As a musician, I see clear parallels between music and massage. Both are about creating a sensory experience that's deeply personal but rooted in universal principles.

Core values

Patience, open-mindedness, and respect are my guiding values. True healing isn’t rushed — it’s a process that unfolds at its own pace. I don’t see my role as controlling that process but as supporting it. I aim to meet clients where they are, offering thoughtful care that empowers them to feel more connected, more grounded, and more in tune with themselves.

I like Carl Jung’s take on what it means to be a therapist — not as someone who fixes people, but as a guide who helps others connect with themselves. I want to create a space where people can reconnect with parts of their body/mind that may have been neglected or cut off from awareness. I believe true healing comes from personal growth. My role is to facilitate that, not control it, while remaining open to growth and transformation myself.

Rewarding moments

The most rewarding part of my work is seeing transformation. It’s not just about relieving pain it’s about helping people feel more connected to their bodies. I love seeing clients walk out with a new understanding of how their body works, or realizing something about themselves they hadn’t before.

Those "aha" moments make the work feel deeply worthwhile.

Proudest achievements

One of my proudest achievements as an RMT has been learning to fully embody the role in an authentic way. Early in my career my biggest challenges were overcoming perfectionism and people-pleasing. I’ve since learned that being a grounded therapist creates a better experience for clients. I no longer feel like I’m just performing the role of therapist – instead I channel my own experiences, personality, and perspective into my work. This shift has allowed me to connect with every client more naturally. I approach each person with empathy and curiosity, knowing that every session is a chance to build trust and facilitate trust.

Another achievement I’m proud of is earning that trust from clients. Every session strengthens it, and I don’t take it for granted. Knowing that people feel safe and supported is one of the most meaningful parts of this work.

Hobbies and interests

Outside of work, I’m a guitarist and songwriter. Playing music allows me to stay creative and connected to flow states, which I also bring into my massage practice. I play with a couple of bands, most notably the Pink Floyd tribute band, PIGS.

As a musician, I see clear parallels between music and massage. Both are about creating a sensory experience that’s deeply personal but rooted in universal principles.

I’m also drawn to nature and exercise. I love weightlifting, rock climbing, hiking, archery, and foraging for mushrooms.

Educational background

  • Diploma in Massage Therapy at Camosun College gave me a solid foundation in anatomy, physiology, and hands-on massage techniques.
  • Background in psychology and maintain a strong interest in Evolutionary and Jungian psychology
  • Most of my growth has come through experience. I’ve learned the most through self-reflection and listening to feedback from clients. Everyone teaches me something, and I continue to evolve.
