Non-Invasive Healing
Help Heal Your Injuries with Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave therapy uses a hand-held tool to deliver strong pulses of energy to the affected area, activating damaged tissues for repair.
Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive, non-surgical approach to healing with no significant side effects.
Shockwave therapy kick-starts your body's own healing processes by stimulating your metabolism and enhancing blood circulation.
Shockwave therapy is most effective in cases where the body has not been able to heal itself on its own.
Our chiropractors and physiotherapists can provide shockwave therapy treatment, and most insurance companies provide coverage.

Shockwave Therapy Treatment Process
Initial Assessment
Your therapist will conduct a thorough assessment to target the source of your pain. Before prescribing treatment, your therapist will ensure shockwave therapy is right for your ailment.
Setting Expectations
Each session lasts just 10-15 minutes, and we typically recommend 3-4 sessions, spaced 5-10 days apart. The short treatment may be slightly uncomfortable. However, the intensity of the pulses can be adapted for your comfort.
During Your Treatment
We'll get you into a comfortable position and apply ultrasound gel to the treatment site. Once the shockwave machine starts, it will deliver ~2000 pulses to the treatment area, depending on severity and chronicity of your condition.
Post-Treatment Care
As shockwave therapy triggers an inflammatory response, you may feel mild discomfort 2-4 hours following treatment. We advise that you avoid anti-inflammatory medications and high-impact activities for the 48 hours following treatment. Gentle stretching and light movement is fine.

How Does Shockwave Therapy Work?
Mechanism of Action
On a cellular level, the energy pulses from shockwave therapy create micro-cavitation bubbles that expand and burst, resulting in force within the tissue. This created force stimulates the body’s cells to regenerate damaged tissue naturally.
The Tool
Our shockwave therapy machine is built by Storz Medical, one of the only manufacturing companies that is FDA approved. Made in Switzerland, this machine is used in many of the research studies on shockwave therapy.
Treatment Effectiveness
Initial pain reduction is often noticeable after just 1-2 sessions. Optimal results are typically experienced after 3-4 sessions. Clinical improvement rates range from 77% to 91%, depending on the condition treated.
